Gynxiacre Summer Camp 2007 - Day 2
The wind and rain continued into the morning, and we were all wondering whether we would be walking up Snowdon today, having decided that canoeing was already out of the picture for today. We packed for Snowdon just in case and set off for Llanberis, where the railway trail for Snowdon starts. The weather was still bad so we decided to leave Snowdon until tomorrow. We ended up going on a tour of Dinorwig Power Station, and then we went up to Caernarfon to see the castle.
The weather improved slightly upon arrival back at the campsite, the rain had gone though the wind hadn’t, and the tents were starting to dry off which was a welcome relief. I should point out here that the Lynx contingent didn’t originally make it back to the campsite due to suffering not 1 but 2 flat tyres. This would result in a lengthy delay for the evening meal, and poor mobile phone reception did nothing to help with the rescue operation. I’ll let Lynx explain more about this incident. It would be fair to say that things were “gynxed” at this point (the Gynxiacre name was definitely being put to good use at camp).

Hmm, I don't think we'll do Snowdon today. |
The Guest Book at a visitor centre near the start of the Railway Trail. We (as Gynxiacre) just had to sign it. |
