Easter Camp 2004
Easter Camp 2004, the first Genus Network Easter Camp, took place in Cumbria.
After an early start on the Friday we set off and headed up the M6 towards
the Lake District. After a stop in Winderemere for some breakfast, we continued
our trek up to Carlisle after a brief stop at Ullswater. After a couple
of hours looking around Carlisle (where Andrew, in one of his spontaneous
moments of madness decided to buy some incense sticks) we headed off to
the Ratlingate campsite, just out of Carlisle where we set up camp.
On the Saturday we headed up to the Scottish town of Moffet, famous for
it's toffee... Derrick made the most of this oppurtunity to stock up on
Moffet Toffee!
On Sunday we set off to tackle Skiddaw. Unfortunately the visibility wasn't
too good, but began to clear as we were walking back down - so we were able
to see some quite good views.
Overall it was a very good first Genus Network camp! We would highly recommend
the campsite to anyone who is planning on going, it has very good facilities
and is in a good location, not too far from Carlisle. Click here
