Winter/Spring 2007
At the start of the year Genus Network joined up with Badger Explorers for the first time for a bowling evening in Ilkeston.
During the first 4 months of 2007 Genus Network have boosted links with other Networks in Derbyshire by participating in events organised by other Networks. In particularly links have been enhanced with both Lynx and Sandiacre Networks, both through BBQs and a Megazone evening.
On the District and County front Genus Network members have participated at 2 St Georges events, the Alton Towers day (held as part of Derbyshire Centenary celebrations) and the Belper District St Georges parade in Belper. Genus have also helped out at the Spring Bank Camp at Drum Hill
As for Genus's own activities and events, we once again had our own Easter Camp in the Lake District. The main activity was hiking. We used the hike as part of training for the Queen's Scout Award Expedition that we are looking to undertake in 2008.
Looking ahead we have the Belper District Centenary Camp in June, and we also hope to join up with Lynx Network for a sailing trip to the Continent in September.
